History of the Play:

Glimpses is a new Australian play by Dubbo based play write, Jodi Cramond. The Winestain Project first became familiar with Jodi’s writing in 2008 through short play festival Short and Sweet in which her short play “Alchemy” was nominated for best Drama writing.

The work was so impressive that The Winestain Project hunted Jodi down via Facebook to ask if she had a longer script that could be produced. Jodi didn't have a longer script, but sent through 3 short pieces which were brought together to become "Glimpses", a story of a family caught in the cycle of Domestic Violence.

About the Play:

It is part of the human condition to be a product of the nurturing received as children. For many there are positive traditions and lifestyles that encourage a healthy condition, while others are bound by negative habits that are modelled to them. Glimpses takes a look at a family stuck in a vicious cycle of abuse. What can humans do to escape the nurturing that defines them? How do they identify this occurrence within them? How can they create a positive cycle for future generations? After all, we were all born with a wonderful, distinct and joyous nature; so how do we remember who we truly are?

A full Production of “Glimpses” will premiere at Theatre Works 2010
