The Presenter:
Shane Randall
Shane's passion for wine was ignited at 20 years of age by a cheeky, yet knowledgeable, waitress when she gave him no nonsense advice on food and wine matching. He studied applied science (wine) through Charles Sturt University, has worked as a cellar master and sommelier in a leading Brisbane restaurant. He has worked in all areas of wine production from grape growing to wine making and bottling. Shane currently works in wine sales where he applies his passion for straight forward communication about wine on a daily basis.
The Expert:
Michael Kyberg
One of the top students in an outstanding year at Adelaide University (ex Roseworthy) Michael became winemaker at Red Hill Estate, located in the Mornington Peninsula since 1999 vintage. He was subsequently invited to be an Associate judge at the National Wine Show in late 1999, where the Red Hill Estate 1998 Chardonnay scored a gold medal.
Michael is actively involved in the development of the Mornington Peninsula as one of the preeminent cool climate wine making regions in Australia and has been a member of the executive of the local vignerons association (and various sub committees) for several years.
